Team G.R.N. would like to apologize for the delay to our Kickstarter launch, and happily announce that all issues have been resolved. We will be launching our Kickstarter tomorrow morning at 7:00 AM. That’s Tuesday September 11th at 7:00 AM. After the launch we’ll do our best to have team members on all day to answer any questions you may have. Until then be sure to check out the demo on Kongregate and leave feedback for the team.
Today we have a bit of bad news and a bit of good news. The bad news is that our Kickstarter will not be launching today. We ran into some problems verifying some data and got backed up. We have since resolved this issue and are currently waiting for Kickstarter to approve the project. We expect this to occur in the next couple of days. Once we have been approved we will announce a new launch date and time.
Now the good news. We have decided that even though the Kickstarter did not launch we will still release the demo on Kongregate. Yes, the wait is over, now you can play Broken and give us feedback leading up to the launch of the Kickstarter. To play Broken please click here.
Thank you for all of the support so far. We look forward to launching our Kickstarter in the near future and hope you enjoy the demo.
Over the next three days we’ll be revealing the rewards for each tier of the Broken Kickstarter. Right now I’ll be revealing the first three tiers and later tonight you’ll get the next three. So without further ado, the Broken Kickstarter Rewards:
$1 – A sincere thanks on this website
$5 – A special thanks in the game’s ending credits
$10 – A digital copy of Broken for the PC
Check back later tonight to see what you’ll get for tiers between $15 and $50 and come back tomorrow when we’ll reveal tiers $75 and $100 plus reveal the first limited edition tier.
And make sure to mark your calenders and set your phone alarms for this Sunday at 5:00 PM Eastern Time to help us get a great start for our Kickstarter!
G.R.N. Studios is pleased to announce that the Kickstarter campaign for Broken will begin on Sunday September 9th at 5:00 PM and will end on Friday October 12th at 6:00 PM. Our fundraising goal is $15,000. We are so pleased to have finally made it this far. Starting Sunday afternoon we will launch a free demo of Broken on Kongregate. We know we are inexperienced college graduates and we want to prove to you that we have what it takes to make an amazing game. We don’t expect you to take our word for it. We think if you play what we have for yourself you will see that we can deliver on our promise of a high quality and innovative new puzzle game.
I want to thank all of you in advance for any support you may give. We are offering pledges as low as $1, with a $15 pledge netting you a copy of the game. We’ll reveal our full list of rewards as we near Sunday so check back regularly for the latest updates. It’s been an amazing journey for the whole team. And we can’t wait to continue it with your backing and support. If you want regular updates please follow us on Twitter @Brokenthegame or like our page on Facebook (Broken The Game). We are so excited to share our work with you and we sincerely hope that you will be just as excited to support it once you’ve played the demo. Thank you all one more time, and please check back regularly! Of course I will respond to any questions I receive as soon as I get them. Please expect further details to be released throughout the week. After the launch of the Kickstarter expect us to be as transparent as possible about the game, our team, and how we’ll be using your hard earned money. Happy Gaming!
Creative Director, G.R.N. Studios
Hello everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve posted here. I hope you enjoyed the recent site update. We have a new look and added some new content. But now it is time for a more concrete update. Over the past 9 months we’ve been working tirelessly and we are now very close to launching a Kongregate demo of Broken. At the same time we are going to launch a Kickstarter campaign that will help us pay for legal costs, get licenses for additional platforms, and to polish and improve every aspect of the game as much as possible. Our goal is to get enough money to cover legal costs and to get licenses to port the game to iOS. As such our asking amount will be low but additional money over that amount will let us improve the game in numerous ways.
So where are we right now? Well we are pretty damn close. All of our mechanics are in place and it is possible to play the demo through from start to finish with only a couple minor bugs. We are currently working on ancillary stuff like level selection and menu art. The demo will contain the tutorial Therapy levels, and the first world, where you face off against your sociopath personality. Obviously none of these levels will be completely final, and we will work to incorporate feedback from the community into the game as we barrel towards our release date, which will hopefully come before the end of the year, at least for the PC version.
Now I don’t have an exact date for you yet, but the Kickstarter campaign and Kongregate demo are set to be released before the end of the month. Until then please comment here, or follow us on Twitter @brokenthegame, or like us on Facebook under Broken The Game. Finally, if you want to contact the development team privately you can send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We can’t wait to share our demo with you guys, and hopefully get the money we need to make this game available to as many people as possible, and in as polished a form as possible. Thank you!
We added a video page to the site where you can see a playthrough of a very early version of our game. There are still a lot of changes to be made, but progress is happening. Click on this link to find the video or go to the bottom of the page and click on Videos.
